The Naughty Dogs had a solid run during the 2010 season and finished the 2010 NPPL Pro Paintball season in 7th place. As many of you will recall, the Naughty Dogs shocked the paintball community with a multi-year agreement with DYE Precision in 2010 (they had been a Smart Parts Factory team).

Fast forward to 2011, and the future of the Dogs is in great jeopardy. Raymond and Rocky Knuth are said to be taking the 2011 season off; Raymond is going back to school and Rocky is opening a gym. With that being said, word on the street has it that Corey Field has parted ways with the team and is now a free agent. Corey was a major force both on and off the field for the Naughty Dogs in 2010 and his departure will be hard felt. Without Corey, Rocky, or Raymond, the future of the Dogs is questionable at best. New gear from Dye keeps rolling out. Yesterday we saw the DM11 and 2011 NT and now the Ton Tons, Nexus, Naughty Dogs, Ironmen, and Damage have new Jerseys. We are still on clear if any of the teams will be wearing the new gear tomorrow.

Rumors are circulating that the Seattle Naughty Dogs will be competing in the 2010 PSP World Cup. Sources familiar with the team have confirmed that several Naughty Dogs have mentioned their interest. These rumors were further confirmed this afternoon with the Naughty Dogs signing themselves into the APPA database as a team competing in the PSP World Cup. No word yet as to whether the Naughty Dogs plans to compete in the PSP pro paintball division during the 2011 season. Attempts to reach the Naughty Dogs have gone unanswered at time of publication. Stay tuned.

The DC Challenge paintball tournament, held at the beautiful Pev’s Paintball Park in Aldie, VA has come to a close and the NPPL would like to thank all the players, sponsors, staff and crew that came together to help make this one of the smoothest paintball events in NPPL history.  The league would also like to extend a special thanks to Mike “Pev” Peverill and his team for providing such an outstanding venue.

The NPPL was excited to debut the new “S7″ tournament format during the All-Star Game, which got rave reviews from both pro players and spectators alike.  As for the regulation pro competition, Tampa Bay Damage proved that they are definitely the top 7-man team in the country with back-to-back wins in Chicago and now in DC.  Congratulations to Damage on their impressive victory.

Just a few months back the Portland Naughty Dogs surprised the paintball community by signing a multi-year deal with DYE Precision. Following on the heels of the announcement we showcased an exclusive first look at the Naughty Dogs C10 pro paintball jersey. The Naughty Dogs, dressed head to toe in their new DYE paintball gear did relatively well in the recent NPPL season opener (photos here), placing 6th at the Huntington Beach Open. The Naughty Dogs are the premier DYE team in the NPPL and we figured it was only a matter of time until the team had their very own limited edition NT paintball gun. Pro Paintball teams from across the nation will be battling it out this weekend in Huntington Beach, CA. As this is the season opener, nearly anything can happen. Last year we witnessed several shockers including series leader DC Arsenal losing out to Oakland BLAST in the overall championship and relative new comers San Francisco Explicit winning matches against former Triple Crown Champions San Diego Dynasty.

This year, Vancouver Vendetta and Newport Entourage will be making their pro paintball debut. Throughout the off season, teams like Edmonton Impact, Tampa Bay Damage, San Diego Dynasty, St. Louis Avalanche and Los Angeles Infamous have been stacking their rosters with national champions from years prior. As we go into the first event, everyone here at Pro Paintball is very excited and we are all placing bets as to which teams will be leading the pack.

With all of this in mind, we are proud to open this story for your NPPL HB team predictions. If you are lucky enough to predict the top 4 teams in the pro division we will award you with a prize. The road to the NPPL 7-man season opener in Huntington Beach is heating up. Pro Paintball teams from across the nation are making last minute preparations to insure their rosters are on point and their game plans are set. Read on for the latest paintball news from Tampa Bay Damage, DC Arsenal, Portland Naughty Dogs, San Diego Dynasty and Edmonton Impact.

Tampa Bay Damage

Justin Rabackoff of the Russian Legion will be playing with Tampa Bay Damage in the NPPL 7-man series. Also joining the team is Jacob Edwards who will be making his pro debut. Paintball definitely runs in the Edwards family; Jacob is Jason “FK” Edwards younger brother and is a killer. Its always cool to see the brothers playing together. Damage had an amazing run at PSP Phoenix Open and with the team picking up both J-Rab and Jacob, the team is looking exceptionally strong for NPPL Huntington Beach.

DC Who?

Last week we broke news that Tom Fore and his team DC Arsenal would be sitting out the 2010 pro paintball season. Shortly there after, pro paintball was informed by insiders that the Naughty Dogs would be filling in for Arsenal. Here is how its going to work out; the Naughty Dogs will be under the Arsenal franchise, so on paper they will be competing under the name Arsenal Dogs. However, on the field, the team will known as the Naughty Dogs. The Dogs will be sponsored by DYE Precision, Guerrilla Air, Draxxus, Exalt, and Nox Products. In addition, we have been able to confirm that Collin Lasater of Arsenal will be joining the Naughty Dogs for the 2010 paintball season.

Another insider has indicated that Oliver Lang of the LA Ironmen may be playing with the Naughty Dogs for Huntington Beach. Last year Oliver joined up with DYE team DC Arsenal, so with the Dogs being a DYE team, the rumor appears plausible.

The Eagle flys with San Diego Dynasty:

Earlier we had received information that Glenn might be playing with St. Louis Avalanche but sources indicated that this was not the case. Pro Paintball insiders confirmed that Glenn “Eagle” Takemoto will be playing with San Diego Dynasty.

Pro Paintball Rematch: Damage vs Impact at Huntington Beach?

San Diego Dynasty and Edmonton Impact will be practicing this weekend at Camp Pendleton Paintball Park in Oceanside, CA. Last weekend we heard that Impact, Vendetta, and Explicit were battling it out at Capital Edge Paintball Park. With Ryan Moorehead, Josh Davey, Justin Cornell and Dave Baines, Zach Yachimec and Josh Ouimet, it goes without saying that Edmonton Impact has a very solid roster. Could we be looking at a rematch between Damage & Impact next week in Huntington Beach?

Pro Paintball insiders have informed us that the Portland Naughty Dogs have signed a multi-year agreement with a major paintball company. With the teams former sponsor Smart Parts currently experiencing financial hardship, it was only a matter of time before someone picked them up.Pro Paintball insiders have informed us that all signs point to the Dogs using head to toe DYE gear, shooting DYE NT’s and possibly Myth regulators and custom bottles from Guerilla air. This would be the second multi-year agreement from DYE that we have heard of in the last couple of days, the last of which involved San Diego Aftermath. Interesting to note, both the Naughty Dogs and Aftermath had previously been using DLX and Shockers from Smart Parts.

The off season is in full swing and the rumors are flying. In this weeks rumor report we showcase the latest and most credible rumors floating around the paintball community. Read on for news on the Naughty Dogs, Russian Legion, DC Arsenal, Edmonton Impact, XSV and X-Factor.

• Word on the street has the Russians going back to a Russian-only roster. After watching the team win the 2009 World Cup and doing so well throughout the season, its hard to imagine them making such drastic changes. Credible reports indicate that the team has made a major pickup; Federov has left the Philly All Americans and is returning to the Russian Legion for 2010.

• Speaking of the All Americans, star player Jason “FK” Edwards has left the team and has signed with Tampa Bay Damage for 2010. Jason guested with the Damage at the USPL Las Vegas and made things official shortly there after. This is a major pickup for Damage and a great move for Jason.

• DC Arsenal and the Seattle Naughty Dogs are rumored to be (considering) combining their efforts and making a joint-run for the podium in the PSP Pro division in 2010. Tom Fore, one of the primary interests in the USPL 7-man league, is said to be on the fence about the whole thing. Only time will tell.

• Edmonton Impact is looking to make a bigger presence in the European circuits. After the watching the success of the Roamin’ Video Series by Justin Cornell, Zach Yachimec, Josh Ouimet and Josh Davey, the move makes a lot of sense. The team would be very competitive in the Millennium series and would be doing an excellent job to further promote their sponsors.

• Word has it that Alex Martinez is 100% committed to San Antonio X-Factor and the team is looking to do big things in 2010. The guys at BallersCafe report that X-Factor may have been released from their KEE Action Sports sponsorship contract. We’ve asked around at KEE and have not heard anything official yet, so your guess is as good as ours.

• Speaking of BallersCafe, they are reporting that Tyler Harmon was cut by SD Aftermath. Word is that he is actively pursuing other opportunities and XSV seems to be the direction he is headed in.

• Dave Baines was seen reffing the WCPPL over the weekend with the rest of San Diego Aftermath. Could he be playing with San Diego Aftermath in 2010? Share your comments below!

We’re happy to present the first photo of the new Naughty Dogs team Victory. No word yet on whether the internals are any different from a stock Bob Long Victory, but as laser anno jobs go this one certainly fits the Naughty Dogs. We’re loving the chains.

With Smart Part’s finances in the proverbial crapper it comes as no surprise that some of their teams are switching sponsors. The Naughty Dogs, winners of the televised Smart Parts World Championship in 2006, haven’t been doing as well on the tournament circuit in recent times. Naughty Dogs player Corey Field has said that at the moment they can shoot whatever they want, so we’re not sure whether this marker actually represents a BL sponsorship. They’ll be playing both PSP and the newly retitled (again) NPPL for the 2010 season.
