Pro Paintball has had the chance to sit down with the owner of School of Paintball in Puerto Rico. Pro paintball players such as Billy Bernacchia and pro paintball coach, Marc Lancia. Here’s what Robert Guzman had to say:

School of Paintball was created for those players that didn’t have a facility to develop their game to another level; with a combination of other elements that make paintball and all other sports a completed one. During April 2009, Robert Guzman, owner of Mindbreaker Paintball Field in Puerto Rico, was committed to change paintball. In the northwest side of the island, there were no facilities to meet PSP field regulations. To make matters worse, all the paintball fields were only open on Sundays. Robert began opening every Monday and Thursday to emphasize on techniques, good physical workout, and following up students with their grades in school; the goal was to have a complete player on and off the paintball field.

Having all that covered, Planet Eclipse started helping School of Paintball in every possible way. Planet Eclipse sent over pro paintball stars Marc Lancia & Billy Bernacchia to help launch the school. Billy & Marc set the students up in several situations and laid out several game plans and possible strategies for the game. School of Paintball works hard for a great paintball program, I am glad to have players that are students and also great citizens. These athletes don’t only play paintball they also help the community.

After all, we are all School of Paintball !!!

Today’s video of the day showcases the Brazilian Paintball Cup held in 2008 starring Pete Utschig, Mikko Huttunen and Xalo Almeida. Watch as the trio travel around Brazil training, surfing and playing paintball on the quest to broaden the awareness of professional paintball. These guys did a great job acting as ambassadors furthering our sport and representing their sponsors in developing markets.

Billy Bernacchia has just returned home from his second trip to the LAPPL playing along side team Peru Paintball. Here’s what he had to say:

This was a big South American event in a soccer stadium. Myself and Brian Gigliotti guest with Peru Paintball once again and took 1st place. The competition was very good, many teams had guest pros who help their teams lots.

Just last month Brian Gigliotti and Billy Bernacchia of the New England Hurricanes went to Peru to compete in the Latin America Professional Paintball League. They played along side Team Peru Paintball and managed to take home the 1st Place Trophy. Billy had some comments about the event:

Lots of fun an talent down there. Alot of teams are trying to get American players to help them out. Bart Blonski (Russian Legion) now Bullets was also guesting/coaching a team helping them out a great amount. So I expect to see more American pro’s next event. Thanks to Planet Eclipse for sending us to Rep. you. Jeff, Mike and PJ for putting it all together and Peru Paintball for having us. We had a great time and met lots of new people.

Not too long ago we saw the Ironmen take 1st Place when they made their way to Iran to compete in the PALM Kish Island event. Now that DYE is not the only representative sending their players abroad, perhaps we will be seeing much more of this in the future?
