Introducing the “How to Paintball” video series
Throughout the last couple years I have been looking for ways to give back to the game that has given me so much. ProPaintball.com is derived from that need to contribute to and build our sport. However, we cater primarily to an audience that is already playing. About a year ago we embarked on a project to help grow and introduce the game of paintball to new paintball players. I will be the first to admit that the journey was long, and at times trying, but the ultimate result was worth it. Here is why:
Each time we mention paintball, or set up a recreational game, we run into the same group of questions — “What is paintball?”, “Does it hurt?”, and “How do I play?”. With this in mind, I began searching for some sort of guide that I could email to my friends, family, and those interested. We as a sport needed a educational tool that was free, didn’t require much time, and helped provide the information new players need to enjoy their first game of paintball.
Believe it or not, such a tool did not exist. So, with the help of several friends and the generous support of Empire Paintball and Giant Paintball, we created the guide. As the saying goes, “If you build it, they will come”. Right?
Our creation is a 3-part educational paintball video series designed to teach new and prospective players how to paintball. Each video runs approximately 3 minutes long and covers everything from the paintball basics, to planning for your first trip, what to bring, and what to expect at the field. We have also built in several tips including ways to save money (or in some cases, play free paintball), game related tactics and important safety concepts.
We ask that you take a minute and explore these How to Paintball videos. Then, SHARE these videos with your friends. Plug them on facebook, message boards, email, and place them on your field and store websites. If you don’t own a field or store, perhaps you can suggest your favorite paintball company include them on their websites.
We hope you utilize these videos as the important instructional tools they are. Please, help spread the message and grow the sport. Share Paintball with your friends!
When sharing the videos, please refer prospective players back to this page: http://www.propaintball.com/how-to-paintball-guide/

this is awesome and perfect for all paintball fields :)
@SCP Edge, thanks buddy, appreciate it!
Good stuff! I think new players everywhere will benefit from this. any chance these will be put out on a DVD for use at a field’s safety briefing?
Nice voice over Don. That being said….
overall, nice job… could use a fourth segment intended for players that have played a few times, decided they love the game, and have no clue how to progress beyond the (extremely basic) basics covered in the first 3 videos. For example, the first thing most beginners want is to get their own gear (doesn’t matter whether or not that’s the smartest move on their part – - it’s almost invariably that that’s what new players feel they need)… A brief tutorial on equipment shopping (emphasizing mask first, then gun, etc.) would be very helpful. The second thing I think might be popular, is an introduction to the different kinds of paintball games out there (speedball, woodsball, scenario games, etc., etc.) and maybe a brief tutorial with regards to strategic variations for each one. Lastly – and I don’t think there’s a way to make this fun, so just do it as fast as possible – a segment intended to touch upon all of the ways an owner of a paintball gun can get in trouble with the law. It’s generally surprising how few people are aware of the local laws in their area concerning paintball guns…
I think that you are correct about players that decided they love the sport afer playing a few times. Altho how to purchase markers, masks, etc… I think its to the field/store owner job. =) … but great pont tho
Nice to see a quality set of information videos!
