WCPPL Event #3 at CEPP canceled
The following statement was released by WCPPL regarding the rumored cancelation of the WCPPL’s Event #3 at Capital Edge Paintball Park. Read on for the official announcement.
With regret, I must announce that the “WCPPL – Event 3: RaceTo- Capital Edge Paintball Park in Sacramento, CA on July 17-18″ is now CANCELLED. All teams that have paid thus far will have their entry fee transferred to Event 4 unless otherwise stated by the team managers. There are several defining reasons for this executive decision. None of these which will effect the future events. Believe me when I write that this was not an easy decision for the league to make, but one that had to be made nonetheless. We apologize because as a player myself I know firsthand the excitment and preparation that goes into team planning for events like this one.
The cancellation of Event 3 had to occur from a business perspective for this event ONLY. I am a player as well and therefore have the liberty of seeing it from both ends of the spectrum. I’m saddened that this had to happen for this event ONLY, but now we must look to the future. The WCPPL truly appreciates all of the concern and support that you all have shown. Again apologize for having to cancel Event 3, which many many players were looking forward to participating. However, no further information concerning the cancellation will be disclosed.
We appreciate all of your support and look forward to everyone being able to participate in Event 4 – RaceTo- Camp P on September 11th and 12th in Oceanside, CA. With this break between, we hope that your squads come into Event 4 and Event 5 hungrier and more prepared than ever to do work.

Though we spend our hard earned money and bust our asses off all we get is the run around and speculation as to the cancelation of an event. Grant you… this is the best league on the planet but we deserve the truth as to what caused it.
So is the lack of attendance caused by the economy or the tournament organizor??
I believe there was 50+ teams registered which is about as many teams as will be registered for the USPL DC event. Not bad for a regional series.
I honestly doubt it was due to lack of participating teams. WCPPL is still the best regional tournament around and Mike runs an awesome event every time. See everyone at Event #4!
For a two paragraph statement all Mike did was reword the same sentence about eight times….
looks like some dude named ~BHREZE~ wrote it. hinge always throws down his name when hes responsible for something, so I doubt its him writing this.
are we ever going to get a real explanation i’m sick of being told that it was business perspectives, tell us a reason that the players will understand, regardless of this though wcppl is the best paintball leage in all of the west coast, see you all at event 4
hinman already explained that he went $20,000 in last years NorCal event. this year pulled in more teams, but still no where near enough to cover the costs of taking an event up north.
its called learning from mistakes.

Big difference between 50 teams registered and 50 teams PAID.
Three weeks before event, 50 teams may have been registered, but ONLY 3 were paid. Plain and simple business, not enough teams to make the event profitable/reasonable at that rate anywhere.
Damn you, business perspective!
Now this I can accept… Players need to step up or there will be no tournies!
