Exclusive first look at the ANGEL EYE Paintball Goggle System

The crew at ProPaintball worked over time to pull this one off. This is an early release of the ANGEL EYE paintball goggle system that we discussed a few days ago. Insiders suggest (from a variety of old intellectual property filings) that this new paintball goggle system will include an integrated fan in or around the mouth piece and allow for upgradeable communication units. You ready? Follow the link for an exclusive look at the new APS Goggle system.

  1. haha says:

    how ugly is that

  2. Rob says:

not ugly at all. I’m digging the stealth fighter feel. Hopefully the actual mask looks as good as the promo image.

  3. kalioner says:

wth hell ima have to maybe buy one lol thing is a trip!

  4. Saku says:

Very interesting. Almost like Master Chief’s Halo 3 helmet. lol

  5. gasjatt says:

I can’t quite grasp the outlook of the mask.
Which part is the double lens? Which part is the mouth piece? Is this the front or the back or the side of the mask?

  6. D says:

Could anyone in HB take a real picture of these goggles?

I agree with Gasjatt, really difficult (and it’s the point) to grasp its outlook.
That is obviously the front, but it’s almost impossible to see how far the sides come out.
    I’m wondering if it’s like a i4, very tight or if it’s more “roomy” like a Flex7…
(playing with brightness/contrast on ‘toshop doesn’t reveal much…)

  7. ajuin says:

looks more like masterchief’s mask from halo. Welcome to future paintball.

  8. andy says:

Not sure why anyone would wanna look like a friggen mosquito while they play paintball..

  9. Josh says:

Angel has always revolutionized paintball, just because they have not had a good run these past couple of years, dont count them out of the race yet.

    • Josh says:

I also think that this new upgradeable communication unit is the answer to all of us losing our voices during or after the events

      • Rani says:

I agree, I think This will revolutionize paintball if the communication thing goes well, because A) PSP and NPPL Rules May Change depending on if it rlly kicks off or not , B) More companies may start to go the same way

      • Rob says:

For those saying we’ll start using comms in tournaments – bad idea. Less yelling = less spectator appeal.

      • Josh says:

When I am watching games its hard for me to hear anything thats going on, with all the guns shooting and the fans around me

      • The Reaper says:

That would be true but no tournament event allows electronic communication devices on the field. The only place that you would find a use for that is a scenario or playing woodsball. You can’t even use a megaphone to yell to your teammates. If it runs on electricity they won’t allow it in the NPPL or PSP for communication.

  10. AmbitionMedia says:

Ill post a video on the nation tonight most likely of this mask and most likely the rest of the trade show.

  11. mr. solo dolo says:

i can already see this mask making it into some hollywood films.

  12. Observation says:

Imagine if players could actually talk to each other instead of screaming fragments of sentences across a field hoping they’re teammates hear them. Logistics would be a little weird, but it would make for some crazy teamwork.

  13. Observation says:

+ especially out on the Xball field if a coach could pretty much be inside the head of the player, feeding them thoughts and instructions… I bet you’d see some amazing moves.

    • smileanator says:

I agree you might see some amazing moves, but dont paintballers use enough high tech equipment as it is? I think it gets to a point where onlookers of paintball see us more as gadget/gizmo collectors or fanatics rather than players of an athletic sport.

It would be a laugh for woodsball but personally in the xball side of things I think this would half the excitement I get from watching or playing. not only that, it would make it far harder for young players to see how to play and communicate like the pros do and in my opinion we want to be raising the level of play instead of holding the knowledge and experience close to our chests.

  14. Blake says:

Radio\Communication devices outlawed by both NPPL and PSP….has been that way for years.

  15. ukballer says:

ok so when did we all start wanting to be in halo?

    their fucking crazy!

  16. ukballer says:

“upgradeable communication units.” are pretty illegal if electronic

    • Josh says:

Sure, they are illegal at a tournament. So, lets say the biggest tournament in the world has 5000 people at it. That is .05 percent of the supposed 10,000,000 people that are always said to be playing paintball by industry statistics.

  17. GON says:

I am actually interested in more pics of that mask.

  18. SDwhat! says:

Hahahaha, wow. First Sly come out with an ugly mask then Angel follows. I hope this trend quits soon.

  19. wow says:

It looks so outrageous that I’m actually interested. Looks like you aren’t catching any lucky bounces on that thing. Star Wars Clone Troopers FTW

  20. aceofspades says:

honestly i think this mask is sick and very futuristic looking. although i think the communication upgrade although revolutionizing paintball will also push it that much closer to a war simulation. turning others away from pball. i think without the comm. upgrade it would be a sick mask to own

  21. o says:

    SICK LOOKING

  22. joe says:

that thing is so ugly its OOGLY

  23. Justin says:

    I agree…Halo

    • jvvfyrvkuytc says:

me too… i can picture playing halo 3 with the birthday party skull on, shooting a player in the face and then little kids say “YAY!” and confeti flys every where lol

  24. Rob says:

I see potential fogging issues… the nose and eye sections aren’t sealed from each other and I see no evidence of a dual pane lens.

  25. Brad says:

I think I just pissed my pants…. that shit’s out of this world

  26. G says:

ok, I’m not planning on quitting paintballing anytime soon. but if it will turn into halo then i will asap.

  27. JBird says:

How much will it cost? And when it´s going to be realesed?

    • Justin says:

      Great questions!

I believe the ones featured are prototypes. We should have more details for you tomorrow regarding MSRP and release date.

      • Justin says:

Update: We’ve been able to confirm that the mask will retail at $100.00 and anticipate dealers taking delivery within the next 60 days.

  28. John says:

This really looks like something out of a video game or a movie. Hell it looks almost like I should go ride a motor cycle with it instead of play paintball. Gotta give props to APS for innovation.
It is sweet looking…I’m just wondering how functional it will actually be for paintball.

  29. The South African says:

I saw something like that once, then I stepped on it and squashed it. Brings new meaning to the term “bugged eyed”

  30. Delo. says:

    ….gross

  31. Garrett says:

looks like a pain to clean

  32. different says:

  34. zachman500 says:

  35. Mightyyyyyyyy says:

  36. randy says:

  37. ianDL says:

i dont know anyone who would want to wear that

  38. chris says:

I don’t like it looks to si-fi!!!!!! not impressed

  39. Fletch says:

Wait till someone gets shot in one of the vents and the fan blows all of the paint into your mouth.

  40. kyot says:

Tried at NPPL Chi. Would rather wear Tippmann dont care what. Absolute fail beyond what I expected.

  41. KB says:

Look at all the players still playing with the JT PRO. Why? Its light and you can see out of it even with glasses. Who cares what it looks like as the JT is Really Old School now and we still play with it. make it light and easy to clean, anyone with glasses can use it and let the player see.

  42. brandonpb1991 says:

i think the communications will help enhance all sides of paintball so instead of screaming across the damn field and repeating yourself you can easily communicate better but, makes people in the deadbox easily able to cheat.

  43. m9lkman says:

    damn that looks sick!

  44. phil says:

yo momma’s ugly this mask is fucking sick

  45. rou says:

  48. juan says:

haha sick ass mask i love it but when you throw it on its like your asking to get shot in the forhead lol

  49. Josh says:

Hey, for all you people that think there is two lenses still, your a fool, that was their original plan till they realized “hey, this sucks ballz” it has been modified since then.

  50. benG says:

    star wars fanatics… unite.
