Pro Paintball team NE Hurricanes 2010 Ego and Frank Connell

hurricanesA few weeks back there was a rumor floating around that the NE Hurricanes and St. Louis Avalanche pro paintball teams might be merging for the 2010 season. While we can’t confirm or deny the teams merging, it is interesting to note that the following photo features Frank Connell with a 2010 NE Hurricanes Planet Eclipse Ego.

This confirms the Frank Connell-to-Hurricanes rumor (plus, Frank is listed on the NE Hurricanes APPA roster) and shows us the first look at the 2010 Hurricanes Ego.

i really hope the avalanche+hurricanes rumor is true.

the two teams havent been what they used to be, and it might just be the kind of move that both teams need. the only problem i forsee is the distance between the clubs.

  2. Name says:

    So, the only question is:

    Avacanes?

    or

    Hurralanche?

  3. Canes says:

Canes are a KEE paint team and Frank works for Pro-caps. Can’t want to watch the Kee guys find him not shooting Kee paint. Have fun with that one next week.

  4. Who says:

Who’s to say Frank didn’t get the Hurrachokes a paint deal with DXS?!?

  5. Jeff Stein says:

Frank will be shooting KEE paint with the team this weekend.

Can’t believe someone thought I missed that.

  6. Hey Jeff says:

Before each match, be sure to tell Frank which way the flag station is.

  7. _ says:

    could this be the beginning……
teams having crews on each coast so that team name can show up at events all over the world spreading the “name” making the name more important than the people playing

    • are you says:

Serious? Team owners can barely hold ONE squad together in the same area. Now you want them to go bi-coastal under the same umbrella?

    • Justin says:

Enables an organization to be playing and representing their sponsors in multiple places at once..not a bad idea.

Definitely wonder what sort of impact this will have with the Avalanche team. With almost half the Avalanche team now made up of the NE Hurricanes, will they be swapping the name?

  8. Frank Connel says:

Frank has fat hands, how did they get skinny?

  9. *** says:

If they’re shooting KEE paint and taking KEE over Pro-Caps, how come the ‘Cane in the photo is shooting a Pulse?

  10. It’s definitely Frank, he custom painted his mask like that.

    But a pulse, sigh, seriously?

    • Justin says:

      Hey Gilbert!

Those pulse’s may be heavy, but they work like champions. After three years of abuse I finally swapped mine for a rotor. Reason for the switch? The shells were so cracked they wouldn’t accept any more tape.

Funny thing is, the pulse motor still powers paint down the feed ramp like the day I got it. Can’t say the same for any of my other hoppers (read: halos, vlocitiys, etc.)

      • I definitely agree with you there. A great product from DXS, but they are hands down the heaviest loader on the market. I am a fan of a fairly light setup, ego 9, prophecy and dxs 68/45. If DXS came out with a pulse that was much lighter then the original and had buttons for the tray that didn’t break on first impact, I’d be using one for sure. DXS warranty is definitely something unheard of in paintball. Friends of mine have sent in 3-4 pulses to receive brand new shells every time, how can you beat that?

  11. doubt it says:

Im going with a no on that being Frank…..The mask is legit, the hands make no physical sense, and he doesnt walk the trigger when he shoots which is clearly what the person in the picture is doing…

    • liquor says:

The person in that pic is not walking the trigger. That person is shooting with their middle finger…. just like frank!

      • Justin says:

Jeff Stein from the NE Hurricanes confirmed in a posting above that the photo is Frank Connell.

“It was a photo of Frank playing in London, but not with the Hurricanes.”

lets go shwarez!!!!! #1 paintball team! come on guys keep it up!!!
