TIM MONTRESSOR ON WINNING IN PHOENIX

Tim Montressor
We spoke to Tim Montressor of the Philladelphia All Americans and asked him how they managed to beat the red hot Russians and the World Cup Champions Ironmen and take the Championship in Phoenix.
What was the All Americans’ game plan for Phoenix?
As for our strategy going into the event, we wanted to stay aggressive the whole time. We know how to win when down in the count and how to play patient, but we needed to added a new dimension to our repertoire. With the style of players we have, staying aggressive on this field was our main priority from the first game on.
We felt we had enough depth to continuously dump bodies into the snake side, which in turn would open up the dorito side. The dorito side was very difficult if the snake side didn’t have control.
After watching that semi final game against the Russians – I knew you guys were going to beat the Ironmen. What was the factor that got you guys over the Russians? They were playing really well all weeekend. But you guys player even better.
As for our games with the Russians and the Ironmen, most of the credit has to go to Jason Trosen. His ability to strategize and adjust as the games are occurring is the best in the business. We had our guns set up perfectly for all the lanes and our breakouts matched well against the teams. Jason has in innate ability to use players strengths and exploit them fully.
Obviously the Ironmen would have been watching your semi final games against the Russians – you would have to change the game plans. What did you guys do to change it up for the final?
As for the finals in particular, we felt if we could survive the breakout, we could win the match. Therefore, J-Tro had a little different strategy that required quicker secondary moves. This helped us avoid getting trapped in the middle.
Can you elaborate on the gun set ups for the lanes and the breaks?
