USPL announces event dates
The US Paintball League has announced Western Conference events in Huntington Beach, CA, San Jose, and our bet would be another stop in Socal. The Eastern Conference series begins in Washington D.C, Boston M.A, and is rumored to hold a grand finale in Miami, Fl. Instead of chasing an entire series around the country (eg. NPPL, PSP), the USPL has set up the event schedule and series to enable divisional teams to play the regional conference series (3 events total). Definitely a nice improvement for national paintball and should prove a much more cost effective way to compete “in the big leagues”.
Bart Yachimec of Edmonton Impact explained “we wanted to make sure teams who couldn’t afford to compete in all of the events still had a chance at earning a championship by only having to travel to one event. Just the same, teams who want to support the circuit by playing in most or all of the events will be rewarded with the opportunity to swap out some of the standings”.
USPL 2009 Schedule
Surf City Open April 3 – 5, 2009 Huntington Beach, CA
DC Challenge May 15 – 17, 2009 Washington D.C
Bay City Open June 12 – 14, 2009 San Jose, CA
New England Classic July 31 – August 2, 2009 Boston, MA
West Coast Open August 28 – 30, 2009 Venue to be Announced
World Championships October 2 – 4, 2009 Venue to be Announced (rumored Miami, FL)

These are going to be great events! Look forward to USPL.
if there is an event in Miami i may play it. if it is too close to cup i doubt many would (with the exception of florida teams). as for the conferences good goin USPL, finally we can not have to fly cross country. although i do enjoy the travel of the PSP i do not enjoy paying for a ticket to Phoenix or other states far far away. this also opens the door for “rivals” in conferences to make matches more interesting.
my question still is, will it be formatted like the Millenium series or like the now dead NPPL?
love how central paintball gets the shaft in this league…awesome!!!!
No no, don’t worry, us folk that play in those parts have money to fly to either coast it’s fine…it’s not like we’re going through the same economic hardships as everyone else.
They are just playing to the numbers. Those areas typically bring the highest paricipation numbers. They can’t risk bad attendance to make friends by having a MW event.
